Monday, March 10th, 2014

Three of Steller Systems’ team of Naval Architects will be presenting papers at the 12th International Naval Engineering Conference and Exhibition, which is taking place on 20th-22nd May in Amsterdam.  The conference, which is being held by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST), is the leading conference for the global naval engineering community.

Principal Naval Architect and Managing Director Robert Skarda (himself a Fellow of IMarEST) and Senior Naval Architect Rick Goddard will be presenting a paper entitled ‘UXV-Enabled Totally Modular Combatant’, which discusses how modularity in ship design can help achieve competing requirements such as increased capability, increased survivability and reduced through-life cost.  Meanwhile Senior Naval Architect Dominic Burger will present a paper entitled ‘Unmanned Naval Aviation and its Impact on Future Carrier Design’, which demonstrates the extent to which the move towards unmanned aviation could influence the design of an aircraft carrier built to operate such craft.
